I'm just a mommy who loves to sew....

There are so many wonderful blogs out there by ladies who love to sew and I thought I would join the band wagon! I got the sewing bug when I was very young. My mother sewed for myself and my four younger sisters, we were always dressed to the tee in matching dresses. My maternal grandmother (Maga as I call her) sewed and my paternal grandmother Precious and grandfather Ed both sewed. So I guess you can say it's in my blood. Pictured is me circa 1980's in an Easter Dress made by my mom and above is from 2007, me and my kiddo's in matching camouflage outfits that I made, CUTE huh?

hen I was 13 I got my first pink Singer Sewing Machine, I made simple pillows and dabbled in other crafts. In my high school years I got braver and made (with a lot of help from my mom) prom and winter formal dresses. Years later my husband bought me a sewing machine after the birth of my daughter as I wanted her to have boutique clothing but knew I could make similar or even better looks. That was back in 2004. Since then I have traded up on my sewing machine and added a Serger and Embroidery Machine.

More recently I have added Hair Bows to my Crafty talent. I now have a website www.sewsavvybybrandy.com and along with my best friend Angie of Fancy That; we do Craft Fair's and exclusively supply to a handful of high end children's boutiques. We love what we do and we do it well. And as Stay At Home Mommies we also love being able to contribute to our household income by doing something we love that works around our childrens schedules.

At the moment I am living life in bliss and I am Sew Happy....
